Goal: Construction of a Gypsy Vardo on the base of a flatbed truck, using such materials as free wood-pallets and sawmill slabs in the carpentry. Internal combustion engine would be replaced by electric motor with crystal battery banks and roof-top solar panels. ~ JDHWB-R
Zephyr, a self confessed hippy, lived in this housetruck, a work of art,
for over 30 years. It is in great condition and the interior wood work
is exceptional. It is a relic of a different age of travel where
housetrucks roamed the country from art fairs to barter fairs. Often
these housetruckers would come together and congregate in "gypsy" camps.
They had the freedom to travel with their home. Some call them land
yachts or desert schooners.
