10-Card Celtic Cross Tarot Reading:
1 - Central Issue (Significator)
THE FOOL: Quest for Enlightenment
COVID-19 began in to spread in Wuhan, China in December of last year. Government in Beijing hid the truth about how contagious this disease is and rapid rate of infection, first in Asia, then Europe, and around the world to the United States and beyond... Like unto the Black Death of the Middle Ages, this 21st Century Plague affects and alters civilization as we now know it, We as collective Humanity will never be the same; truly sending us into uncharted territory.
Traveler setting forth on the journey of life - young, innocent, unknowing of pitfalls and temptations thereof. The sun, i.e. knowledge of his origin as a ray of the infinite source (God) manifest in human form to work through the physical plane, is behind him. He may know it is there but is unaware of its real meaning so therefore he is walking away from it. Before him is the precipice, trap of the material world, awaiting his step over the edge and fall into imbalance. But, he sees it not, as his eyes are upon the beautiful vista; illusion caused by inexperience and blindness regarding Universal Laws. The dog at his heels is bounding and appears to be excited about the journey and equally unaware of the pitfall ahead as he is in a leaping mode and following his master's footsteps. The traveler is well-dressed, meaning that internally and externally he has everything he needs to take on this journey. He carries a purse on a stick representing his pack of provisions; resources or equivalent means to see his way through the travels ahead. Also, he holds a white rose signifying the eternal Life Principle which will bring him successfully through the trials he encounters during the course of his journey to the ultimate fulfillment of his destiny. 2 - What Crosses You
PAGE OF PENTACLES: Application
This is the archetype of study and application of new ideas to solve problems; the image of reflection and the desire for new ideas to arise for the purpose of application - as well as scholarship and the ability to dream, which allow for the creation of novel ideas. In a counseling session, this archetype indicates that the client is studying new ways to solve old problems, or will encounter an individual who can offer insight with this regard. Or, the person entering the client's life could be a messenger bringing some news which will effect the client as it pertains to his/her particular destiny. A negative interpretation of this image, when present during a session, would be for the bearer to bring bad or unsettling news to the client. Also, some unrealism on the part of the person or quality represented, i.e. being a dreamer to the point of contemplating such fantasies which run counter to the precepts of Universal Laws, in other words, inability to recognize the obvious facts in a particular matter. Dissapation of ideas, i.e. wasted thought processes, or totally illogical thinking, rebelliousness, or wastefulness in general. Liberality and luxury as they refer to life being off balance also lend themselves to an adverse interpretation. The nature of an application of the Page of Pentacles within a particular session depends upon the client's course of action, whereas a positive reflection is generated through correct observance of Universal Laws and so a negative reflection can be transformed via the client making an individual change of course, i.e. following rather than violating said Universal Laws. Deep concentration, in the proper perspective, brings forth the best in this archetype.
State of Mind: Deep concentration, Application, Scholarship, Reflection, Desire for new ideas, Do-gooder, Bearer of news, Study, Unrealistic person, Failure to recognize obvious facts, Dissipation of ideas, Illogical thinking, Rebelliousness, Wastefulness

KNIGHT OF PENTACLES: Responsibility
Here is the archetype of responsibility and service. Note that this image reveals a rider methodically moving toward his destination, his eyes fixed upon completion of this task in hand. He is carrying the symbol of his suit, but does not look upon it. In a metaphysical counseling session, the Knight of Pentacles represents a mature and responsible person in the life of the client; one who is reliable, with the ability to conclude a task which has been started. This person is also patient and thus persistent in his efforts, as well as being laborious and organized. This would be a person who is capable of bringing great energy to practical matters; a dependable manager and a steadfast worker. A responsible and conventional person is in this archetype's positive aspect. The adverse side of this image reveals: stagnation, inertia, a lack of determination or direction, without any purpose to carry a task to its end. Narrow-mindedness, whereas limits are established by dogmatic views, can also be a trait. Idleness and inertia, plus carelessness and discouragement, could be part of the adverse effects of this image during a counseling session. Interaction with other archetypes make the determination whether or not this image may be positive for the client. A personal course correction on his/her part can bring a 180-degree turn in circumstances and thus transform a negative outcome into a positive one. The sense of duty and that of responsibility, inherent in the specific symbolism of this archetype is able to transcend the stagnation and carelessness of its negative side.
State of Mind: Mature person, Responsible person, Reliable, Methodical, Patient, Persistent, Ability to conclude a task, Laborious, Organized, Serviceable, Stagnation, Inertia, Lack of determination or direction, Limits set by dogmatic views
4 - What Lies Behind - Past
THE HIEROPHANT: Taught through Ritual
As we each individually have diverse religious/spiritual traditions in families and social circles, the COVID-19 pandemic binds us together in common purposes to do what we must to have comprehension of the greater human family guided internally by God, beyond dogmas and acknowledge the common bond that we are all One Life, refracted into mirrors of each other.
THE HIEROPHANT: Taught through Ritual
Religious Doctrine: External Symbols of internal Reality. The only way to see beyond the outward form of the Hierophant's teachings is to change one's perspective, i.e. Inner Truth being the hidden cause behind manifestation in outward reality. This Archetypal Figure represents the external Form and function of the internal Mysteries. Also known as The Pope, he stands for established religious practice, ritual, and fundamental principles thereof. The Triple Cross in his right hand is an outward symbol of The Christ; Crucifixion of Body, Soul, and Spirit to be resurrected as Body, Soul, and Spirit in union with God. The left hand signifies the distinction between revealed and concealed Mysteries. For those who are in the world and have yet to realize the Hermetic principle of "As Above, So Below," the major religions and basic, or fundamental Teachings serve as a signpost for entry through the Gate of personal commitment to be instructed by God via internal Illumination. The Crossed Keys are indicative of the Written Teachings, i.e. Scriptures, and ritual Ceremonies of religious practice and Doctrine intersecting with the intuitive Guidance of the Universal Source from the center of one's Being. One key is external and one key is internal; one being the function of the other. The Hierophant stands as a barrier to those who are yet unable to comprehend the True creative Life principles and therefore the External Teaching is all that they receive. However, if they can pass beyond the Form via choice to join the Spirit of Illumination radiating from within their Souls then the High Priestess is waiting to reveal the heretofore hidden Mysteries inscribed in the Scroll she is holding in reserve for those who are truly ready. PARALLEL ARCHETYPES: The Pope, The High Priest.
State of Mind: Ritual, Mercy, Kindness, Forgiveness, Inspiration, Compassion, Servitude, Inactivity, Timidity, Overt reserve, Captivity to one's own ideas, Tendency to cling to outdated ideas, Conformity, Good advice, Alliance, Humility, Divine wisdom, Teaching, Help from superiors, Patience, Organization, Peace
5 - What Lies Above - Possibilities
QUEEN OF PENTACLES (Reversed): Security
This could easily represent a sword hanging above our heads as that of the mythic Damocles, especially should governmental agencies be hiding ulterior motives, when offering aid during this time of crisis. Always keep eyes wide open at times when such assistance is presented.
QUEEN OF PENTACLES (Reversed): Security
Prosperity is indicated, yet this Queen has the depth of understanding to realize that the means to perpetuate its benefits is to be generous with her abundance of material wealth. The female figure in this archetypal image is thus contemplating her symbol, the Pentacle, which shows the truth of her being a noble soul. There is definite security and liberty in this right use of the fruits of providence. In an interpretation, attributes of personal well-being, magnificence, grace, opulence, extreme comfort, generosity, and prosperity are noted. The person in the client's life is most likely a woman who is clever and sensuous; ambitious in a practical and useful direction, yet quiet and domesticated, affectionate and kind, charming - and she also might appear to be timid in her approach. In an adverse situation, this understanding of the underpinnings of true prosperity is corrupted, whereas a woman with evil intentions or suspicious temperament could be indicated. Suspense, fear, and mistrust come part and parcel with the individual represented in such a manner. False prosperity, i.e. a front for misuse and trickery, meaning that this person is not to be trusted - is another personality description. Responsibilities neglected and a fear of failure are also indicated. Interaction with other archetypes thus determines whether or not the Queen of Pentacles is of benefit to the client during a session. The direction indicated by archetypal images can be altered, i.e. changed from the negative to positive via course correction on the part of the client, so the outcome can also be transformed. Once again, like unto her mate, the King, as well as some of the other archetypes, the image is "two-edged" in meaning.
State of Mind: Prosperity and well-being, Abundance, Opulence, Extreme comfort, Generosity, Security, Liberty, Magnificence, Grace, Dignity, A rich person but generous and charitable, Noble soul, False prosperity, Distrustful person
6 - What Lies Before - Future
ACE OF WANDS: Invention
This archetype is representative of manifestation, i.e. the infusion of Spirit into matter via the primal creative act known universally as birth. This is point Genesis - the origin of an idea, which is to materialize physically once it has been visualized, is thus indicated here. The commencement of a new venture or direction in one's personal life is shown in the Ace of Wands. The radiant glow emanating from the hand holding the staff conveys the concept of initiation or commencement; the entry of something new into the world. In a counseling session, this image could indicate an actual birth of a human being into this life, or else it could even be a more abstract form of birth. A personal experience laced with meaning could be beginning for the client, should this archetype be present during a session. Depending upon interaction with other archetypes, is the endurance or longevity of the new energy issuing forth, i.e. detrimental interaction could represent a beginning of something which never reaches full realization; an aborted try at a new direction and the personal disappointment which accompanies this event. Plans and preparations may not even reach materialization in this instance. The overall positive quality of this archetype should be emphasized. In the event of a negative impact, the client is thus reminded that a change in outlook, i.e. perception, and subsequent course of action will set the stage for generation of a positive energy flow that will allow creation to flow freely.
State of Mind: Creation, Beginning, Invention, Start of an undertaking, Fortune, Enterprise, Gain, Inheritance, Birth of a child, Beginning of a meaningful experience, Adventure, Escapade, Destiny, Commencement

FIVE OF WANDS: Contention
The longer this situation of sheltering in place within our homes lasts, the tougher it is to stay positive in our thoughts as we ride it out. Frustration may take hold with people "acting out" in irrational ways, thus external means of enforcement (police, military, etc.) could be required to keep the peace in "hot spots." Trust in the Light of Source within us to keep us in all our Hearts .
FIVE OF WANDS: Contention
A situation of contention, whereas opposition is being faced, whether involving other people, a particular problem, or a set of circumstances. Anywhere in life the conscious force of an individual quests to overcome external forces to achieve a specific outcome, a struggle or competition occurs and this card is relevant. The figures are locked in this struggle. The game which the figures play, or this "sham" fight, does not necessarily represent a mock situation. The strife, turmoil, competition, struggle, etc. most often is a very real experience in the client's life. The interaction with other archetypes during a session will shed light on the specifics of the state of contention indicated by this image. Any form of opposition may fall under the symbolism of the Five of Wands, and the client must always remember that the power to overcome any obstacle in life comes from the Source within us. Metaphysically, we are all channels of the infinite wisdom of the God-Mind inside of our souls, and one may tap into this energy for seeking resolution of the conflict in which one is engaged. Nothing is predestined, i.e. "cast in stone," and a change in focus, whether it is a mental attitude or change in direction, can alter the situation, and thus in a subsequent session the configuration of images would reflect such improvement. The power of the Universal Mind of God within us is greater than that of anything, or anyone, opposing us at any given time.
State of Mind: Unsatisfied desires, Struggle, Labor, Violent strife, Obstacles, Endeavors, Strenuous competition, Trickery, Contradictions, Complexity, Involvement, Caution against indecision, Contention, Opposition
8 - Your Environment
THE CHARIOT: Manipulates the Physical World
Physical Mastery; the Forces of Nature are under control, but the Spiritual drive behind them is not understood. An invisible barrier stands between the mind of Man and the Mind of God, and this blinds the Charioteer, thus preventing his conscious realization of union with the Source, Victory in the material sense, on all levels. Mastery of the Elements, but not the Spirit which Guides them, therefore the Chariot rides in service to a higher authority even though the driver might presume that he is in complete control. The external manifestations of the World are his domain and the travels thereof and successful pursuit of aims within it are shown via this card. Triumph in this arena is within the Charioteer's grasp. The Dark and Light Sphinxes that draw the vehicle are beyond the driver's control, as there are no visible reins connecting the Charioteer to his means of locomotion. Therefore he is unaware of the True Guidance involved in his travels. The colors of the Sphinxes, which are representative of this, show the natural physical perception in the light of the White Beast yet the blindness regarding Spiritual matters in the darkness of the Black Beast. The Castles behind each Sphinx represent the Kingdoms thereof; the ramparts of the Fortress, his reality, shown behind the White Sphinx and the Castle of Peace, without ramparts, behind the Black Sphinx. God's Reality, as known by the Spiritually aware remains hidden from him. The Charioteer may stand before the Hierophant, but not in the presence of the High Priestess. PARALLEL ARCHETYPES: The Car, Ezekiel's Chariot, Apollo's Chariot.
State of Mind: Adversity possibly already overcome, Conflicting influences, Turmoil, Vengeance, Success, Possible voyage or journey, Escape, Rushing to a decision, Need to pay attention to details, Urgency to gain control of one's emotions, Difficulty, Trouble, Outside factors, Perplexity, Triumph, Failure, Defeat, Chaos, Fleeing from reality, Obedience, Faithfulness, Health
'
The "powers behind the curtain," i.e. the cabal, are unaware that they are losing control of the financial pyramid created by the House of Rothschild, so this COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the globe just might signal their demise and herald a new era of de-centralization on this planet.9 - Hopes and Fears
NINE OF SWORDS (Reversed): Despair
Bolstered by years of fear porn in the mainstream and alternative media, contrast has reached new heights with polarization of two political factions being the harbinger, particularly here in the United States, but also evident in Europe. Building bridges across this great divide is a path to unity which is essential for us to explore, if we truly seek to heal the ills of our shared world.
Whereas the Ten of Swords represents the onset of affliction, the Nine of Swords then impresses one with the experience of being afflicted. Herein is life within the "nightmare of the soul" which is part and parcel to the "dark night" described in the previous image, i.e. agony, pain despair, fright, terror, or hopelessness. Death is thus indicated here - as symbolized in the process of dying whereas the flame of faith within a person's soul has dwindled so low, it appears that even a light gust of wind could extinguish it completely. Depending upon the interaction with other archetypes, fear of the outside world or the dark, murky depths of the human subconscious mind or imprisonment, either physically or psychologically imposed could be indicated. When this archetype is representative of a person in the client's life, suspicion results and a shady character could be revealed within the heart of this individual. Or this archetype could express the client's anxiety or concern for the welfare of this person. Intuitive discernment in the light of all archetypes present in perspective is required to fully interpret the Nine of Swords. Metaphysically, when this image appears, and especially if its effects are an overpowering influence upon the client's outlook, it is important to remind the client to search diligently within his own soul via meditation. When one is centered thus, the peace, wisdom, and understanding of the divine Source will reveal the reason why this archetypal image is present. Then the faith to endure and overcome this despair shall arise.
State of Mind: Concern, Miscarriage, Anxiety over a loved one, Despair, Misery, Quarrel, Disappointment, Suspicion, Slanderous gossip, Shame, Scruple, Timidity, Shady character, Reasonable fear

FOUR OF CUPS (Reversed): Aversion
The only viable solution to this cumulative dilemma for Humanity on many levels, is to awaken from sleep, as Rip van Winkle did in the tale by Washington Irving, and move beyond remorse of losing twenty years; missing the fact that George III was replaced by George Washington as president of a new republic formed by the American colonies he lost during the Revolutionary War. Talk about Future Shock! When COVID-19 passes from our radar, we will be in a whole new paradigm on this planet experiencing new social structures for which we need to adapt. Are we individually and collectively ready to take a leap of faith into the unknown? We'll see...
Oracle Cards (The Rider-Waite Tarot)
This is an archetype that shows dissatisfaction with the present situation or conditions in one's life, and resignation with regard to any positive change forthcoming as being illusory at best. This feeling is clearly indicated by the figure's facial expression in reaction to the offering of a fourth cup from a hand appearing from within a cloud. He figures that it will bring no more consolation than the three already consumed that stand at his feet. In a counseling session, the client is weary of a certain situation or circumstance within which he/she must contend. Aversion, disgust, bitter experience, and personal disappointment are indicated. This image could represent, on a much larger scale, the "dark night of the soul" experience of being lost in a financial or emotional wasteland, whereas the contents of cups consumed or the one offered are unable to "fill the Cup of the human soul." This condition also indicates the results of decay which issued from the fruits of pleasure not in accord with universal purpose, symbolized by the effects of drinking wine. This is a demonstration of the axiom, "You reap exactly what you sow." An adverse meaning of this image with respect to interacting archetypes, could indicate a new relationship, new approaches to old problems, new knowledge, new insight, or new instruction. There is a way to deal with the problem side of this archetype, and that is to change the course of direction or action taken.
State of Mind: Weariness, Aversion, Disgust, Disappointment, Bitter experience, Stationary period in life, Disdain, New Possibilities, New relationships, New approaches to old problems, New Knowledge, New insight, Financial privation, Emotional wasteland.
