Tillerson dials back rhetoric after Trump's North Korea 'fire and fury' threats

(CNN)US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has sought to allay fears of a military confrontation with North Korea after President Donald Trump warned he could unleash "fire and fury" on the pariah state.

Tillerson defended Trump's comments but said there was no sign that the threat level from North Korea had changed and that Americans should "sleep well at night."

His unscheduled remarks, on a flight out of the region early Wednesday, appeared designed to dial back the unprecedented rhetoric from Trump.

In comments that were significantly more incendiary than any made by US presidents in the past, Trump had appeared to threaten nuclear war with North Korea.

"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen," Trump said on Tuesday at his golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Hours after Trump spoke, and apparently in response to military exercises by the US earlier in the week, Pyonyang warned that it would carry out preemptive military strikes against the US, including the Pacific territory of Guam.

In a report on state-run media, North Korea said it would "turn the US mainland into the theater of a nuclear war" at the first sign of an impending American attack.

Tillerson was at pains to stress that the US did not believe that the threat from North Korea had changed."Nothing that I have seen and nothing that I know of would indicate that the situation has dramatically changed in the last 24 hours," he said, adding that "Americans should sleep well at night."

But he also defended Trump's comments."I think what the President was doing was sending a strong message to North Korea in language that Kim Jong Un would understand, because he doesn't seem to understand diplomatic language," Tillerson said.

Soon after he spoke, however, Trump touted US nuclear capabilities, potentially further escalating the standoff with Pyongyang. "My first order as President was to renovate and modernize our nuclear arsenal. It is now far stronger and more powerful than ever before," Trump wrote on Twitter just before 8 a.m. ET from his golf resort in New Jersey.

But in a second tweet, he seemed to play down the idea that the US would need to use them any time soon. "Hopefully we will never have to use this power, but there will never be a time that we are not the most powerful nation in the world!"

Threats from North Korea

KCNA, North Korea's state media, said that a strike on Guam would be aimed at the US military bases on the Pacific island.

Guam's governor, Eddie Baza Calvo, released a video address Wednesday, reassuring the island's residents that there was no escalated threat. Guam's Homeland Security Advisor George Charfauros told CNN that he remains confident of the island's defenses.

But North Korea warned in a separate KCNA report on Wednesday that it was looking beyond Guam and would hit the US mainland with preemptive strikes, with the use of nuclear weapons, should there be any sign the US planned to strike North Korea first.

"The US should (remember), however, that once there observed a sign of action for 'preventive war' from the US, the army of the DPRK will turn the US mainland into the theater of a nuclear war before the inviolable land of the DPRK turns into the one," the report said.

White House sends mixed messages

Critics have said the White house has sent conflicting messages on its stance on North Korea, and Trump's aggressive approach is at odds with Tillerson's more diplomatic stance.

The threat from North Korea's nuclear and missile programs has been a top foreign policy priority for Trump since taking office in January, but the dangers posed by North Korea have taken center stage since the country test-fired two intercontinental ballistic missiles last month.

The latest crisis intensified when reports emerged this week that US intelligence sources believed North Korea had developed the ability to miniaturize a nuclear warhead to fit top of a missile. Those reports appeared to prompt Trump's tirade from Bedminster Tuesday.

Republican Sen. John McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said Trump risked going too far.

"I take exception to the President's comments because you've got to be sure that you can do what you say you're going to do. In other words, the old walk softly but carry a big stick," McCain told KTAR radio in Arizona.

Democrats slammed Trump, saying his comments were "unhinged."

"President Trump is not helping the situation with his bombastic comments," California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said in a statement.

Tillerson has maintained that the US is open to dialogue with North Korea, if it promises to abandon its development of nuclear weapons.

But the US military has flexed its muscles by conducting joint military drills with Japan and South Korea and conducting show-of-force operations.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday warned against making aggravating remarks.

"China calls on the relevant sides to follow the broad direction of resolving the nuclear issue through political means, avoid remarks and actions that could aggravate conflicts and escalate tensions, and make a greater effort to return to the correct path of resolving the issue through dialogue and negotiations," it said in a statement.

China voted to move new sanctions against North Korea this week after the country test-fired two intercontinental ballistic missiles last month.

But Washington has pressed Beijing for more action on North Korea. China has leverage over the country as its biggest trading partner and main source of food and energy.

Pyongyang capabilities unchanged

Despite the threats little has changed in the assessment about Pyongyang's military capabilities and the chances of a US strike.

While US intelligence analysts have claimed that Pyongyang has produced a miniaturized nuclear warhead, it's not believed that the capability has been tested, according to the sources.

However, there's debate within the intelligence community that Pyongyang has the required skill and technology. The Washington Post, which was first to publish details, reported that it was the analysis of the Defense Intelligence Agency.

The threat from North Korea's nuclear and missile programs has been a top foreign policy priority for Trump since taking office in January, but the dangers posed by North Korea have taken center stage since the country was able to fire two intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Weapons experts say both of those missiles, designed to carry nuclear warheads, could theoretically reach the US mainland, based on the range of two recent missile tests.

North Korea observers have long maintained that a war between the US and North Korea is unlikely, largely for two reasons. The first being that both sides recognize how devastating another Korean War would be, the second being that the Kim regime, which values its survival above all else, knows it would lose.

Experts worry Trump's rhetoric could hurt the US by feeding North Korean insecurities and adding instability to an already tenuous situation.

"We have two inexperienced, impulsive presidents in control of these massive military machines," Joe Cirincione, president of Ploughshares Fund, a global security foundation, told CNN on Monday.

"It's one thing to make a mistake intentionally, its another thing to stumble into a conflict ... either one -- Kim Jong Un or Donald Trump -- could miscalculate and let loose a war unlike anything we have seen since World War II."

On this date in 1945, the inhabitants of Hiroshima, Japan were blown away by detonation of the 1st atomic bomb ever used as a weapon in warfare. The United States of America is the only nation on Earth to cross this line, which triggered an arms race toward "mutually assured destruction" with the Soviet Union that ended with it's break-up in 1991. Yet, the military industrial complex that President Dwight D. Eisenhower had uncovered in his 1961 farewell address continues to Foster proxy wars around the world right up to the present day: Civil war in Syria is the most recent conflict of significance. When will the Eagle remember... that the Olive Branch trumps Arrows and the USA should "beat its swords into plowshares" and stand as a harbinger of Peace. War is never the answer! I knew it back in the 1970s when I participated in protesting against the Vietnam War. I was relieved when America brought the troops home and this nation was at peace for the 1st time since the Korean War (1950-1953). This didn't last past September 11, 2001: The USA has been perpetually at war, in Afghanistan and Iraq, with troops in both countries as I write this. If Syrian conflict heats up, President Donald Trump could commit to putting "boots on the ground" in that country. The nuclear genie is back in the proverbial bottle, but such could be a "red line" for Vladimir Putin and Russia, so all bets are off in the event of matters escalating to the point nuclear warheads are launched! Negotiation is the only way forward. Otherwise, human civilization is running the risk of getting blown away!

Not only for nation states on the "world stage" but for online communities, such as UnFuckers Unite, where a firestorm of comments threatened to fracture it into two opposing factions. We are the One People! Both Lisa M. Harrison and Dani Arnold-McKenny hosted the Round Table discussion together until recently, and I DO NOT CONSENT to a split happening in UnFuckers Unite or between these two hosts in alternative media who have new shows independent of each other. How many conscious people do we need to flip us into “Sovereignty” and

1) The mathematics has already been done, it amounts to this: the square

root of one tenth of one percent of the entire field.  To visually see

In these kinds of situations the first thing to do is reflect for a good while before coming to any conclusions or even taking any action. It’s not always easy to get a perspective and you have to take into consideration the whole picture. You have to chew on it and when you do things sort of come into the awareness, usually in relaxed states and suddenly you get an insight, which speaks to you and a light goes off … bingo!!!

They may actually be doing you a favour while at the same time making it appear to the general public as though the judge is a monster. But in actual fact they can see far, far down the road, in law, and the consequences of the decisions that they make today will have on the outcome of the case much later on. So chin up campers, nothing is what it appears to be.

In relation to extradition H won’t sign anything so there isn’t going to be a waiver and therefore there is likely to be a hearing and that means the feds have to get their act intact in realtion to that.

She SAW ALL who were present in the hearing today and FELT EVERYONE – and so did Everyone else in the hearing.

She was Amazed and In Awe of the Beautiful energy permeating these doings today – inside the court room and out!!!!

Reminded Everyone that she is doing what she is doing now so that it will never have to be done again!!!  EVER (lol)

She is delighted with how things went today!!

Her Public Defender could not believe that the judge violated her constitutional rights.

His attitude toward her and the whole situation has shifted. 

He was very upset with that and was having a hard time comprehending it – the transparency is off of the charts.

Heather told him not to worry because she cancelled all of this 4 1/2 years ago.

She recognized a presence in the judge, and saw the beauty of her doings.

She is not sure when the extradition will be, but she is in awe with everyone, ALL of the doings – even the judge, Mr. Bos and Parker Still.

For now – she is going to relax for a bit over the next day or so.. She is having fun!!

Let’s look at some fascinating facts about the August Eclipse. According to an article on the Countdown Site:

– The August eclipse occurs exactly 33 days before the Revelation 12 Sign, beginning in the 33rd state (Oregon), and ending in South Carolina at the 33rd parallel.

– 2017 eclipse max time is 2 min 42 sec and the 2024 eclipse max time is 4 min 28 second – add both together and total time is 7 minutes even.

-The day of the eclipse is August 21, 2017 – (7 + 7 + 7 = 21)

-The eclipse is also exactly 40 days from Yom Kippur and the path of totality will be 70 miles wide. The zone of totality arrives onshore at 1716 UT – same exact time of sunset in Jerusalem.

– 7 years later another eclipse, and both form an X over the United States that rests right over a region in southern Illinois called “Little Egypt.” The exact point where the two paths cross is in the town of Makanda, which used to be called the “Star of Egypt.”

– The first major city that will witness the eclipse is Oregon’s state capital, Salem. Salem is the shortened version of “Jerusalem,” which is the most prophetically significant city in the entire Bible. Jerusalem was originally called Salem in the days of Melchizedek (Genesis 14:18) and the closest road to the exact point where the two eclipses cross is Salem Road in Makanda, Illinois.

–The eclipse will be the first total solar eclipse that only affects the United States since 1776, founding of the country.

Now let’s move forward into the area of speculation.

The Space and Science Research Center (SSRC) performed a review of historical records – for 350 years of volcanic activity (1650-2009) and seismic activity (1700 to 2009) within the continental US. It then compared the results with the sun’s record of sunspots, a measure of solar activity.

This study revealed an impressive degree of correlation for global volcanic activity – greater than 80.6%. It also revealed a pattern for the largest US earthquakes.

Knowing this, let’s examine what may transpire during the August 21, 2017 rare total solar eclipse. Here’s the deal: The New-Madrid seismic zone is on the direct path of the eclipse.

Will the increased gravitational pull of the sun and moon alignment have any effects on the planet Earth?

The moon itself creates the tides – its gravitational pull has enormous effects.

So the question arises, when the moon and the sun are perfectly aligned during this eclipse, will the combined gravitational forces cause unusual activity as it passes over?

Years ago, I recall there was a geologist who insisted that the moon had potential effects on fault zones. He made very good arguments.

I notice that the eclipse will cross over the New Madrid fault line. In 1811 and 1812 arrived four of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded in America.

Some even say that one of the earthquakes (February 7, 1812) was potentially a magnitude 9.0 or larger! It actually destroyed a town–New Madrid Missouri–and rang church bells a thousand miles away in Boston and New York City!

When you take in all of this information at face value, and combine it with the briefings in my book Planet X – The 2017 Arrival, I can only say that I find it very, very curious!

Bill's summation of Identity Hearing July 31, 2017

1.) Sealed court, visitors evicted from Court. One large bald guy in suite and one small guy in pin stripes stayed. Small guy later identified as Parker Hill, “government witness”. Tech guy was setting up projector for prosecutor… we could presume to show photos of HATJ? Unknown…

2.) David Bos moves to have court unsealed due to unsealing of case in TN, judge and prosecutor agree.

3.) we are allowed back in court, HATJ unshackled twice in hallway, indicating hand and leg shackling

4.) David Bos says HATJ wishes to represent herself “pro se” with him as stand by counsel.

5.) Judge looks confused and asks if his client does this “knowingly”, he says yes.  Judge said premature to rule in favor of standby counsel. Bos has meeting with HATJ on Wednesday, asks for continuance.

6.) Prosecution looks at Parker Hill, he nods, they agree on Friday hearing 10 AM (unsealed court).

7.) David Bos views future outside counsel as unlikely. HATJ to proceed Pro Se Friday.

There was a sealed hearing

They closed up everything and locked doors, black pieces of wool on window

They asked Bill, Yousef, and Neil to leave

Attorney came out and talked to Bill and Yousef after the hearing

Apparently TN, issued an arrest warrant for HATJ, for….? to gum up works for her

She will have an identity hearing on Monday. DC Jail lock up jail until then.
